I am an urban designer interested in the intersections of lived experience, ecology, and public infrastructure. My work explores how the built environment shapes everyday life, and how thoughtful, context-driven design can create more equitable, resilient, and meaningful urban spaces.
Having grown up in Chennai, a city in South India shaped by rapid urbanization and complex relationships between people, infrastructure, and the environment, I have become particularly interested in how cities evolve and how their transformations affect the communities that inhabit them. This perspective continues to inform my approach to urban design, from public spaces and neighborhood-scale interventions to broader questions of urban systems and environmental resilience.
With a background in Public Space Design and a Master of Urban Design from Carnegie Mellon University, I bring together spatial analysis, research, and design exploration to understand urban challenges from multiple perspectives. My experience spans transit-oriented development, GIS-based environmental analysis, community engagement, and public space design. Across these different scales, I am interested in connecting technical inquiry with lived experience to develop solutions that respond to the needs of both people and place.
I believe that good urban design extends beyond the physical form of a space. It is also about the relationships it fosters, the systems it supports, and the opportunities it creates for people to shape their surroundings.
Outside of design, I enjoy exploring new cities, observing the everyday details that make places distinctive, and finding inspiration in the ways people inhabit and transform their environments.
